The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce’s gala holiday celebration takes place this Saturday along Main Street in uptown Susanville, complete with live entertainment, the Christmas Parade of Lights, Santa’s Grand Entrance and fireworks at the Elk’s Lodge behind the big 30-foot Christmas tree at the top of Main Street.
The chamber’s yearly christmas party has become tradition in Susanville, with nearly two thousand people expected to show up to help welcome Santa to town.
The party starts December 5th at 5:00p.m. on Main Street, which will be closed to traffic for the event, and around 5:15 live entertainment begins.
At 6:00p.m. the Magical Country Christmas parade will start, with floats, dancers and participants moving up Main Street to the tree in front of the Elk’s Lodge. The big finale of the parade will be the arrival of Santa, the lighting of the tree and fireworks!
Temperatures are predicted to be on the cold side, and Chamber of Commerce director Patti Hagata reminds people to bundle up and dress for the cold. There will also be food, drink and plenty of hot chocolate and warm beverages to help warm you up.
