The Susanville Symphony’s Academy of Music will begin its 2019-2020 season with registration for Wind Ensemble and Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced strings.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the premiere youth organizations for music in Lassen County. Highly trained professional directors and conductors will be working with your child each week.
Wind Ensemble registration is Monday, September 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Nazarene Church. Mr. Craig Harris is the director and there is a registration fee. Students are required to be able to read music and play a winds, brass or percussion instrument. Craig can be reached at 541-690-7099.
The Youth Orchestra and string academy holds three classes: Beginning Strings is open to students who are in 1st grade. You do not need to have ANY prior music experience. Violins will be available to rent and there is a semester registration fee.
Registration for all three classes will be September 22nd at 5:00p.m. at the Lassen High School Music Room.
Intermediate Strings is open to students who have already learned the basics of playing a string instrument. Participants get a year of instruction and the opportunity to perform various concerts and recitals thru out the year.

Advanced Strings are open to students who have displayed competency on their instrument, can read music and who could be ready at the end of the year to audition for the Susanville Symphony Orchestra.
