The Local Area Revitalization Project Cooperative, in partnership with the California Open Farm Passport, is set to host the 2025 Lassen County Grown – Harvest Hootenanny on Saturday, October 4th.
This community-focused event is designed to connect local agricultural producers, resource providers, and residents, promoting a stronger, more engaged food system in our rural region.
The Hootenanny, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 2:00 to 8:00p.m. at the scenic Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch. Attendees can explore a local agribusiness market and resource fair, participate in workshops, and enjoy farm tours.
The event also features family-friendly kids’ activities and local music.
A special farm-to-table dinner will be served at 5:30p.m. Prepared by Susanville’s own Chef Dustin Kelly of Side Iron BBQ, the meal will feature ingredients sourced directly from local agribusinesses.
Dinner tickets are available for purchase in advance online, as a limited number of tickets will be sold on-site at a higher price. Lassen Ale Works will also be on hand selling craft beverages.
All proceeds from the event directly support local agribusinesses and provide scholarships for youth agricultural education and training. For more information, follow this link to the Harvest Hootenany page at LARP’s website.
