The Lassen High School Alumni Association celebrated their 27th anniversary at the group’s annual Alumni Picnic on June 18th, with almost 400 alumni and guests in attendance at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
Several alumni were recognized with awards, including Freda Owens of the Class of 1948 who traveled further than any other attendee coming from her home in Kona, Hawaii.
The youngest alumnus in attendance was Sherri Stock from the Class of 1989. Last year’s Alumni of the Year, Donna Morelini, passed the honor along to this year’s recipient Isaac ‘Tito’ Moruza from the Class of 1939.

The oldest Lassen High Graduate attending the picnic was Evan Chappuis from the Class of 1927. Chappuis just celebrated his 101st birthday on July 3rd.
Henri and Richard Sanchez. Sadly Henri, an important part of this community for almost a century, passed away this week. Rosary, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be held Sunday, July 10th at 7:00p.m., with Mass to be held Monday at 10a.m.
