The USGS is reporting that a magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck near the east shore of Lake Almanor at 4:19p.m. It was felt here in Susanville and as far away as Redding, Elk Grove and Fallon, Nevada.
Widespread minor to moderate damage has also been reported in Westwood, Chester and on the Peninsula at Lake Almanor.
More than a dozen aftershocks have been felt in the area, between 2.5 and 3.8 in magnitude.
