6th Annual Bluegrass Festival June 26th – 28th at the Fairgrounds

June 26th, 27th and 28th the Lassen County Fairgrounds will play host to some of the best music in the world, as more than a dozen of the hottest acts in bluegrass take to the stage for the 6th Annual Susanville Bluegrass Festival.

This festival is a favorite California bluegrass destinations for pickers and grinners north of Sacramento, attracting top-notch bands and performers who run the musical gamut between traditional and modern interpretations of the bluegrass style.

Performances include; Hossetts, Karl Shiftlett and Big Country, the Grass Kickers, the Get Down Boys, James Ream and the Barnstormers, Ron Spears and Within Tradition, Larry Gillis and West Coast Swampgrass, Red Dog Ash and Lonesome Otis.

Admission to the Festival is $20 per day or you can purchase a three-day pass at the gate for $55.

Karl Shiflett and Big Country Show honor the memory of the legendary ‘Father of Bluegrass’ Bill Monroe, performing at the dedication of the Bill Monroe Homeplace in Rosine, KY.

2015 Bluegrass Music Camp

June 23rd through the 25th at the fairgrounds the festival will again play host to the Susanville Bluegrass Music Camp which has been a hugely successful each year and will be offered again for all who are interested. Classes to be offered will be banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, fiddle, dobro and vocals.

The music camp portion of the festival will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and the stage shows will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Food and craft vendors will be onsite.

Music camp morning sessions are 10:00 to noon. Afternoon sessions are 2:00 to 4:00. Fee for each class is $200 and includes camping for the 3 days of the camp, as well as a Festival Pass.
