A Family Tradition: The Zaengles Get Ready for Business

A SusanvilleStuff Feature
by Melissa Blosser

Susanville has been anticipating the grand opening of Zaengle’s Carpet One Floor and Home with every sign and load of furniture spotted making its way to the store. With just days before their grand opening the Zaengle family is looking forward to opening its doors and showcasing their new display of home furnishings and floor coverings.

“We are bringing in a more diverse style, featuring more trendy pieces while still keeping the more traditional pieces,” said owner Mark Zaengle when asked what is different about the new store.

When it comes to furniture Mark Zaengle should know. Combined with his parents, Joe and Nancy Zaengle, they bring over 90 years of experience in the furniture business to their new store.

Joe and Nancy Zaengle worked for Sears prior to moving to Susanville in 1980. After vacationing at Eagle Lake they fell in love with the area and decided to move their four young children.

“I delivered furniture at the age of twelve, when my parents worked at the furniture store here in Susanville,” said Mark. “It has always been my goal to open my own business,” he said.

After graduating high school, Mark left Susanville to manage 6 LA-Z-Boy galleries in Southern California, and then met his wife Quin. He moved Quin their two children, daughter Kendra Zeangle and son, Cody Zaengle back to Susanville to join his parents in the furniture business.

When asking Mark why he chose to move back to Susanville he said, “There are just good people here, and it’s a good place to raise your kids.”

The Zaengle family is excited to open its doors on May 4th. The 16,000 square foot store is fully stocked with new merchandise from brands such as LA-Z- Boy, Lane, Ashley and cutting edge new mattress line ups from Beauty Rest and Englander.

Mark said Zaengles will be dedicated to customer service and affordable pricing, promising guaranteed everyday lower prices than Reno or anywhere else. Special orders are also available with 100’s of styles and colors to chose from.

“I love the look on a client’s face when they walk into their newly re-carpeted or refurnished home knowing that we helped them achieve that goal of making their home the place they have dreamed of,” said Mark. “I’ve even received letters from people, saying how much they appreciated it, that is the best feeling,” he said.

When the doors finally open on May 4th, one thing is for certain. When you chose to go to shop for home furnishings at Zaengles, you will feel a sense of family.
