It’s the Christmas season in Susanville. There are many events happening this month and they begin by bringing in the season with the uptown Magical Country Christmas on December 7th, from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. This festive event fills our uptown with the joy of Christmas.

I know our winters can be tedious at times especially when it comes to driving. Should you find yourself needing or wanting a ride, Lassen Transit Service Agency (the blue bus) has a Dial-A-Ride program in city limits. You can call 530-252-Ride between 7:00a.m. and 6:50p.m. for more information or visit lassentransportation.com.
Winter makes for a busy time for the City of Susanville’s Public Works Department. When snow covers our streets, snow removal personnel concentrate on keeping our main arterials passable for emergency and high volume traffic areas. Followed by crews concentrating their efforts on clearing snow from all streets for general public use as promptly as possible. The city of Susanville’s Public Works Department can be reached at 530-257-1041.
I asked the Susanville City Council if they would each like to share a Christmas greeting with our community, they all quickly responded:

I want to wish a Merry Christmas to the wonderful City of Susanville. Always remember the reason for this season.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years and remind everyone to stay safe as we travel to see our loved ones.

Christmas is such a special holiday. It’s a time of year that brings family and friends together. There is no place like Susanville to celebrate the holidays. We are so lucky to have such a giving and heartwarming town in which to live. Merry Christmas everyone!
