Join the Susanville Indian Rancheria for a special Acorn Gathering Day on Monday, October 13th, from 11:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. at the SIR Gym to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day.
This inter-generational event is a day of community, tradition and knowledge sharing. The day kicks off at 11:00a.m. with a hearty brunch featuring sausage, biscuits n’ gravy. Coffee will be available for our elders and hot chocolate for the youth.
Participants will be transported from the SIR Gym out to gather acorns and back to begin processing, allowing everyone to take part in honoring the acorn and celebrating traditional practices.
The day will also include knowledge sharing, song sharing and connecting across all generations. Join Fawn Robinson and Maudesty Merino and spend the day together celebrating Indigenous People’s Day.
Whether you plan to eat, donate, volunteer or participate as a vendor, please RSVP with Maudesty Merino at 1.530.250.8893.
