It’s been the season for huskies down at the Lassen County Animal Shelter. As soon as one is adopted out, another walks in through our doors again. And that’s exactly how Cider arrived at our facility; bright eyed and excited to meet new faces right after the husky before her found placement with a rescue partner.
Cider has all the makings of a typical husky. She has a knack for checking for weaknesses in fence borders, a high prey drive when it comes to smaller animals (especially birds), is adorably fluffy, and she truly is such a great singer. However, she’s also a rather mellow lady when inside in the kennels. She enjoys lounging and chatting with visitors that come down to the shelter to see adoptable dogs. She’s great at stealing hearts, the trouble is that most folks just aren’t ready to commit to a husky.
So far, Cider has gotten along with other dogs, though staff recommends her new home be cat free. As always, if there are other dogs already In a prospective home, please bring them down to do a meet and greet to ensure a good match. Cider is estimated to be about 3 years old, spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on her vaccinations. If interested in learning more about Cider, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call staff at (530) 257-9200.
