Adopt A Pet from the Lassen County Animal Shelter – Cody

Handsome Cody is a 5 year old lab ready to meet you.

Sweet Cody was found as a stray in Susanville. Luckily, the person who found him kept Cody in their home due to the shelter being full to capacity and them having the means to house him. Later, they brought Cody back into the shelter and even provided a wonderfully written note with insight into his temperament and habits.

According to his temporary people, Cody is ‘a great dog. Friendly, obedient, and seems to be an easy keeper.’ They noted he is food motivated and when left outside in their yard he did not destroy anything or escape. He loves toys and bones and got along well with their dogs. He does NOT get along with cats and should go into a cat free home.

Cody is very much ready for his new home. He’s already neutered and eager to meet his new family. If interested in meeting Cody, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call the Lassen County Animal Shelter at 530.257.9200.

Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.

Current shelter hours during the COVID-19 pandemic are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 257-9200.
