Limited Kennel Space
Lassen County Animal Shelter currently has limited open kennel space and is able to accept a small number of owner-surrender adult dogs and puppies (8 weeks and older).
As a small, rural shelter, space fills quickly – and once we reach capacity, we may be unable to accept additional animals. If you need to surrender a dog or puppy, please call us directly at 1.530.257.9200 to speak with staff and reserve space. Please do not bring animals directly to the shelter without calling first.
With limited staff and kennel availability, we must ensure proper intake procedures to provide every animal with the care, safety, and attention they deserve. Your cooperation helps us serve both the animals and our community more effectively.
Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.
