Hi, I’m Poppy!
I’m a sweet, laid-back girl who doesn’t let all the noise of the kennels get to me. Even though it’s loud and crowded here, I stay calm and quiet, just hoping someone will notice me. My favorite moments are when the kennel techs take me outside to play with toys—I love being with people and enjoying some fresh air.
Right now, our shelter is packed full. So many of us dogs are sharing kennels, doubled up and waiting for families of our own. It’s tough, but we’re all doing our best to stay hopeful. We deserve to know what it feels like to curl up in a warm home, to have a family who loves us, and to never have to share space again unless it’s with our very own people.

Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.
