Adopt A Pet from the Lassen County Animal Shelter – Raven

We’re nearly halfway through October and adoptions are going steady at the Lassen County Animal Shelter. We’ve reached 162 total for the year! Let’s keep things rolling as we skip our way into the holiday season. If you aren’t currently in the market for a new furry friend, please share their stories to increase their odds of adoption.

This week our feature is Raven. This beauty is in search of a patient person to shower her with understanding and kindness. Unfortunately, Raven has been adopted and returned due to her very timid nature. Here at the shelter, she does exceptionally well with other dogs and staff believes she would greatly benefit from finding a home with another confident dog to show her the ropes.

Raven loves being outside, playing with other dogs, and takes comfort in routine with a favorite, trusted person. She’s very cautious around new faces and prefers to observe from afar when visitors stop in to the shelter. Her trust is very slowly earned but her love and loyalty are worth the effort. Potential adopters should keep all this in mind when considering adopting Raven. Due to her timid nature, it’s recommended that children in the home should be older (13+) and very respectful of her space. Small children are not a good fit for Raven and frighten her.

Sweet Raven is spayed, UTD on her vaccinations, and spayed. Should you be interested in learning more about Raven, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call us at (530) 257-9200. As always, should there be other dogs already in the home, we recommend you bring them along for a meet and greet with the potential new furry family member to ensure that everyone gets along.

Additionally: The shelter will be closed on Monday 10/14 in observance of Columbus Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday 10/15.

Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.

Current shelter hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 530.257.9200.
