Kennels are full at the Lassen County Animal Shelter and dogs are in need of loving new homes. We have dogs of all different breeds, sizes, and activity levels. Our feature this week is good boy Walker!
Walker is a very handsome 4 year old German Shepherd/Husky mix. He’s a recent surrender and staff is still learning about his temperament and habits. So far, he’s just wonderful. Walker is fun, athletic, and a sucker for squeaky toys. He doesn’t shred his toys in his kennel, but prefers to carry them around proudly and show them off. Out in the play yard, Walker enjoys an engaging game of fetch and will even drop the toy for his handler to keep things rolling along.
In typical Husky fashion, Walker is rumored by his previous owner to be an escape artist; he likes to roam. Potential adopters should be aware of husky tendencies. Currently, evaluations are being done to determine how he does with other dogs. Should there be another dog in a prospective new home, please bring them along for a meet and greet to ensure they get along prior to adoption.
Walker is neutered, UTD on vaccinations, and heartworm tested negative. If interested in learning more about Walker, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please contact us at (530) 257-9200.
Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.
Current shelter hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 530.257.9200.
