Adopt A Pet Today from the Lassen County Animal Shelter – Leon

Three adjectives to describe Leon? Attentive, photogenic, and spunky.

This guy has so much potential. He has smarts and is waiting for the right person to come along and teach him new tricks. Leon truly wants to learn.

All he needs is for someone to take the reins and show him direction. Leon will catch on quickly; he is eager to please.

Due to Leon coming to the Lassen County Animal Shelter as a stray, his history is unknown. Though, staff is getting to know Leon better each day. Further evaluation will need to be done to determine how he is with other dogs, but so far there has been no fighting or aggression through fences.

However, he does have a habit of jumping up at this point in time. He just gets so very excited to hang out with people. This rambunctious behavior could cause Leon to knock over small children without even realizing it. Leon is microchipped, neutered, vaccinated and estimated to be about a year old. If interested in meeting Leon, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call shelter staff at (530) 257-9200.

Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.

Current shelter hours during the COVID-19 pandemic are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 257-9200.
