Rikki is a sweet, loveable girl in need of an active household. Her previous owner stated that she was some kind of shepherd or husky cross. With that said, Rikki does have some husky qualities and her potential new owner should do some research about the breed and its tendencies.
For one, huskies are well known for getting bored easily and taking themselves on walks, escaping yards with ease. Proper containment needs to be considered prior to adoption. Secondly, huskies are talkers and Rikki is most definitely a chatty girl.
Currently, staff are still getting to know Rikki and will be evaluating her with other dogs. She’s young, a little over a year old, and so far seems to simply want to play through the fence with most other pups here at the shelter. She may do well in a home with another dog to show her the ropes.
Meet and greets are always recommended if there are other dogs or even children in a potential new home. Rikki is spayed, heartworm tested negative, and up to date on her vaccinations.
