Adventure Awaits! Lassen Office of Education Launches 2026 Summer Reading Challenge

The Lassen County Office of Education has officially kicked off its 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, inviting local youth to embark on literary adventures and keep their reading skills sharp all summer long.

The program offers children across Lassen County the opportunity to pick up a brand-new book completely free of charge. The rules are simple: stop by any of the participating local pick-up locations, select a free book, take it home to enjoy, and once finished, return to grab another one!

This year’s carefully curated book selection features a wide variety of genres designed to spark the imagination of every young reader, spanning thrilling adventures, gripping mysteries, touching memoirs, and popular titles.
