Lassen Land and Trails Trust has announced the official winner’s list from the chili-cookoff, salsa-making and handcar races at this year’s Rails to Trails Festival held on October 7th.
Dan Paez’s ‘Chili Beaner Chili’ took first place in the Judged Traditional chili category, with top prize in the Non-Traditional chili going to Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church’s ‘Devilishly Wild’ chili.
Top salsa winner this year was Mt. Lassen Properties with their ‘Mount Lassen Salsa.’
Visitors to the festival got a chance to vote for their favorite with the People’s Choice Chili award going toĀ Ryan Arredondo’s ‘Black Beard’s Delight.’
‘Picasso’s Pico Salsa’ from Bottle and Brush received the People’s Choice award in theĀ salsa category.
The award for Best Decorated Booth went to Ryan Arredondo and hisĀ ‘Black Beard’s Delight’ chili booth.
In the annual handcar races 1st place went to theĀ GS Ditchdiggers, 2nd place went toĀ Diamond Mountain Casino & Hotel and 3rd place finishers wereĀ Black Beard’s Delight.
