The Lassen National Forest’s Almanor Ranger District has announced seasonal campground and day-use area closures beginning today, September 3rd.
The Alder, Almanor Beach, Almanor South, Brokenshire Day Use, Cherry Hill, High Bridge, Rocky Knoll, and Silver Beach will close for the season on today.
The Almanor North, Battle Creek, Butte Meadows, Canyon Dam Flush restrooms, Domingo Springs, Legacy, Dump Station, Echo Lake, Elam, Elam Rest, Hole in the Ground, Locherman Canyon Outdoor Classroom, McCarthy Point Lookout, Potato Patch, Silver Lake Recreation Area (Silver Bowl, Hay Meadows Trail Head, Silver Boat Launch, Caribou Trail Head), Soldier Meadows, Warner Creek, and Willow Lake will close for the season on Tuesday, October 8th.
The Dyer View Day Use, Hole in the Ground, and the Soldier Meadows may close sooner depending on usage.
“Even though the season is ending, the Almanor Ranger District offers many non-fee recreation destinations that are open year-round,” said Deb Bumpus, Forest Supervisor.
“The Lake Almanor Recreation Trail and Canyon Dam Boat Launch will remain open and offer spectacular year-round recreational opportunities.”
The campgrounds are expected to reopen by the end of April 2020.
