Susanville’s annual Turkey Trot was again a huge success this year, featuring nearly 250 runners who showed up early Thanksgiving morning at the Hall of Justice on Riverside Drive to start the holiday with a little turkey-themed fun for a good cause – the Salvation Army’s Senior Programs.

According to event coordinator Charlotte Roberts, the Turkey Trot brought in 504.3 pounds of non-perishable food and a total of $1,057 in cash donations.

Brady Johnson was the fastest male runner and Kimmie McKernan was the fastest female runner. Both are members of the Lassen High Cross Country team.
