Art Is Free is a local community theatre troupe that works to give back to the community by providing a cost free form of entertainment for everyone to enjoy and share the magic of performance and art.
Today at noon and again at 5:00p.m. the troupe will be performing a rendition of “A Very Potter Musical”, a fan made musical based on the best-selling Harry Potter books originally written and performed by a troupe called star kid.
Their performances are community sponsored and endorsed allowing them to hold the shows free of charge for anyone to come and enjoy.
A Very Potter Musical has an advised pg-13 rating on it for swearing and mature content, but the show is packed full of fun, music, and magic that everyone will love and enjoy, especially Potter fans.
The performance will be held at Memorial Park in the cement circle by the ball park. The whole grass area is open for seating, anyone can bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on or just find a spot.
In addition to today’s performances the troup will also be in the park August 26th, 30th, 31st and September 1st. They do two shows a day: the matinée starts at noon and the evening show starts at 5:00 p.m.
As a fundraiser they will be selling cast calendars that feature photos by a local photographer and the cast will be set up for an hour after each show ends to sign and autograph calendars for anyone who would like to purchase one.
