The Lassen Arts Council is offering a series of Sugar Skull classes taught by the talented Ana Rivera. These hands-on workshops will guide participants through the process of creating their own unique and beautiful sugar skulls.
Sugar skulls are a beloved tradition associated with the Day of the Dead in Mexico. These colorful and intricate skulls, decorated with vibrant hues and embellishments, serve as both gifts and offerings.
Originally created as treats for children, sugar skulls have evolved to hold deeper significance. They are now often placed on ofrendas, altars dedicated to departed loved ones, as a symbolic gesture of remembrance.
Through their vibrant colors, intricate designs, and symbolic meaning, sugar skulls continue to be a cherished part of the Day of the Dead celebrations, connecting families and honoring their ancestors.
