From the Ring of Fire all the way to Lassen County Fair Grounds, the Lassen County Arts Council is putting on a Johnny Cash Tribute Show featuring James Garner on June 20th from 6-9pm.   The concert  will honor the life and music of the legendary ‘Man in Black’.

The Night will begin with an opening performance by Jason Wheeler followed by James Garner and the Tennessee Three performing their Cash tribute with the Folsom Prison Blues. Sticking to basic country music, the show promises to take on the true spirit of the Cash sound performance with interesting anecdotes of America’s most beloved singing storyteller, and accounts from Cash’s early, and later years.

“I’ve been huge a Johnny Cash fan since I was a kid, singing his songs in the car, on the way to school, etc.  I just love his music and his life story.  So when the opportunity to do a tribute show presented itself, I jumped at the opportunity with one caveat — we do it right, with quality musicians and as close to the originals as possible.  Five years later, I think we’ve captured that.  We have great talent in Denny Colleret, Jeff Jones and Steve Hutton,” said James Garner.

Tickets are Available at Margie’s book Nook, the health nut, and Lassen County Arts council for $15.00. For more information on the show, call The Lassen County Arts Council at (530)257-5222 or visit their website at www.cashtribute.net.

“Audiences can expect the songs arranged and performed the way Cash did them, especially with respect to his live sound.  We also do more than just the songs.  I like to infuse Cash’s history into the show, telling stories between songs.  All in all, it’s a fun 2-hour show of boom-chicka-boom!” said Garner.
