Barry Ellis Edwards – December 23, 2024

Barry Ellis Edwards, born in San Diego May 30th, 1947, joined his wife Laura in heaven on the 23rd of December, 2024. Barry was an accomplished waterman, Surfer, and champion high-school swimmer. In 1971 he moved his young family to Lassen County, making their home first in Westwood. Seven years later, in 1978, he relocated the Edwards family to Janesville.

Barry was a well-respected and charismatic tradesman with an enduring work ethic and leaves his legacy in the hearts of the people he touched and many iconic landmarks he was a part of creating. Including custom homes on Lake Almanor, to several housing projects in and around the Susanville area, he also worked on dynamic projects, such as hydro-electric facilities in the Feather River canyon, and new boating marinas on the California coast, Monterey Bay, and in San Francisco, built what became “McCovey Cove”.  When he wasn’t working hard, he played hard as well.  Barry was a true Outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends or taking his family on legendary campouts and surf trips!

Barry is survived by his sons Richard and Ronald, his grandchildren Jonathon and Hillary, and his two great grandkids Aspyn and Oliver, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Barry will be ceremonially put to rest at Janesville cemetery this Saturday, January, 11th at 10:30am, followed by a wake at the Edwards family residence in Janesville at Honey Lake Estates.   All who knew Barry and would like to attend are welcome. If you would like to give a gift on behalf of the Edwards family, we please invite you to make a donation to the ALS foundation on our behalf. God bless us all!
