The Susanville Renegades B Team opened up the Thomas Tucker Tournament with two wins on Friday, led by first year coach, Chance Loflin.
In the opener, the Renegades came from behind to beat Chico 8-4. Garrison Collier started and picked up the win. Weston Ormachea, Izak Davenport, and Hunter St. Andre, each had two hits.
In the second game, the Renegades had a thrilling walk off victory in the bottom of the 7th (5-4). Jacob Padelford led off with a single, followed by a double by Weston Ormachea. Both scored on a wild pitch, with Ormachea hustling all the way from second. Thomas Raschein drove in two for the Renegades.
In the opener on Saturday, the Renegades played tough early, but eventually lost 10-4. Izak Davenport and Logan Amrein each had a double.
In the fourth and final game, the Renegades went into extra innings with Grass Valley. The Renegades lost in the 11th inning, 5-2.
Susanville scored one run in the third when after a walk to Padelford and a fielders choice by Ormachea. Ormachea went to second on a passed ball. Logan Loflin singled to score Ormachea. Grass Valley answered with two runs in the 4th inning. In the 5th inning, Padelford walked and went to second on a fielder’s choice. He scored with two outs on a perfect push bunt base hit by Ormachea to tie the score at two. In remained tied until Grass Valley put together a big inning and scored three runs in the top of the 11th for the win.
