Dr. Bateson sends us this photo of the moon taken during Sunday evening’s lunar eclipse.
Local observers got lucky as clouds dissipated over us just in time to catch the moonrise and full eclipse of the perigee moon. This photo was taken by Bateson with a Nikon D-7000 DSLR thru an 85 Millilmeter Televue Apochromatic refractor at 7:26p.m., as the eclipse ended and white light began creeping up the moon.
The Bateson Observatory is a private observatory near Susanville California engaged in Astrophotography and Scientific Research measuring the size and orbits of asteroids.
