Dr. Bateson sends us this neat photo of the Horsehead Nebula and the surrounding area, taken from his observatory on March 9th.
The photo is a single 6-minute exposure taken with Bateson’s IR modified Nikon D-90 through a Televue 85mm apochromatic refractor.
The Bateson Observatory is a private observatory near Susanville California engaged in Astrophotography and Scientific Research measuring the size and orbits of asteroids.
