With heavy snow accumulating here in Susanville, Chief of Police Ryan Cochran is reminding residents to be ready for snow removal throughout the city.
“The City of Susanville has an ordinance that becomes effective whenever there is three inches of snow or ice on any part of the roadways in the city,” explains Chief Cochran. “During these conditions, no vehicle may be parked or left unattended on any city street; vehicles may be towed immediately at the owner’s expense.”
Also, in accordance with the California Vehicle Code, any time a vehicle is left standing on any public street or alley for more than seventy-two consecutive hours, that vehicle may be towed at the owner’s expense.
If you have any questions about these laws, please contact the Susanville Police Department during normal business hours at (530) 257-5603.
