The annual Doyle Days event, featuring the world famous lizard races, will take place this weekend, August 2nd and 3rd in downtown Doyle.
Friday
The party kicks off Friday with a flea market, crafts and lunch between 9:00 and 4:00 in the Doyle Community Building. From 6:00 to 8:00 the big ‘lizard roundup’ will be held with organizers inviting everyone to bring blue belly lizards.
There will also be live music at the Buck Inn with a ‘kick-off dance’ beginning at 8:00p.m. featuring the 3rd Thursday Band.
Saturday
The fun starts bright and early Saturday morning with a 5K race and pancake breakfast. Sign in for the race, and the pancake breakfast begin at 7:00. The 5K will start at 7:30.
Parade entries line up at 9:00 and the parade will make it’s way down Doyle’s Main Street at 10:00.
The world famous lizard races start at noon, from 1:00 until 5:00 there will be fun activities like a rock wall climb and bungee, water slide, cannon blaster, Big Blinco, Big Checkers and more. A wrist band for unlimited turns is $25 or $3 a ticket.
There will also be a horseshoe tournament at the Buck Inn and a street dance at 6:00 featuring the band Rickety Bridge.
