Thompson Peak Lavender End of Season

Thompson Peak Lavender is inviting the community to celebrate the end of a beautiful season with their final lavender harvest event of 2025. This will be the last opportunity for the public to visit the farm this year.

The End of Season Lavender Harvest will take place this Sunday, August 24th, from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. at Thompson Peak Lavender, located at 465-000 Blevins Lane in Janesville.

Attendees can enjoy an evening filled with live music by the Lake Almanor-based trio, Feather River Revival.

The event will also feature a variety of local vendors, including Thompson Peak Treats, Mean Bean Mountain Brew, Rustic Rancher, Amanda Eder- Howling Dog Ranch, AlPaKa’s Tacos, Get Roasted-Coffee and Bed & Breakfast Roseberry House.

Guests can wander through the lavender rows, enjoy food, and shop for unique finds, including fresh-cut lavender bundles for just $5. An array of homemade lavender products will also be available, such as lip balm, extracts, syrups, salves, and sachets.

The cost of admission is $5 per vehicle and includes one free lavender bundle.

“Come wander the rows, shop unique finds, savor great food, listen to incredible live music, and celebrate the beauty of summer one last time,” says Celeste Wiser, owner of Thompson Peak Lavender. “Make the memories before they fade with the season — you won’t want to miss this!”

Lassen Ale Works

Susanville’s own Lassen Ale Works is set to be featured on the popular online show, America’s Best Restaurants, with the episode premiering today, August 21st, at 4:00p.m.

The episode will be available for viewing on the Lassen Ale Works’ Facebook page. The Boardroom location of the brewery will be highlighted on the show.

Lassen Ale Works has been a staple in the Susanville community since its founding in 2012. Starting as a small brewery in the historic Pioneer Saloon, the business has grown with a mission to craft a wide variety of beers to please every palate.

“We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do,” a representative for Lassen Ale Works said online. “Without our amazing customers and staff, this wouldn’t be possible!”

Summer Porches Chamber Mixer

Everyone is invited to this evening’s Chamber Mixer, hosted by Summer Porches Boutique. The event will take place at the boutique’s location at 60 Hall Street, Suite 4, from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m.

Attendees can look forward to a complimentary meal of street tacos catered by Joe Comino, along with chocolate-dipped strawberries and cinnamon puffs. Ice-cold drinks and a full bar will also be available to help everyone stay cool, with misters set up to combat the summer heat.

As an added bonus, every adult will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win several prizes. The raffle includes items such as a Myra Purse, a spa basket, a camping hatchet, and a gift certificate for Summer Porches Boutique.
