Randy Robbins Photography Fundraiser

As the community prepares to gather uptown this Saturday, December 6th, for the annual Magical Country Christmas celebration, local outdoor-adventure photographer Randy Robbins is transforming the holiday spirit into tangible support for a local family in need.

Randy Robbins Photography, located at A Thousand Windows Photo Gallery, 800 Main Street, is hosting a special fundraising Opportunity Drawing to benefit Ayden Yerington, a local 12-year-old currently battling stage 4 cancer.

“Ayden is a courageous kid, and if you are local, you have probably seen various fundraisers this year in support of this family,” said Randy Robbins. “Like many of you, we have known this family for years. We’ve been looking for the best opportunity to help, and we think this is it. We’re hoping the community rallies together to make this a big fundraiser.”

The Prize
The winner of the drawing will receive a stunning 30″x20″ metal print of one of Robbins’ most popular images, “Beach Day,” valued at $550. The image features a family of brown bears on the shore of Naknek Lake in Alaska.

“Ayden’s mom, Tasia, has four ‘cubs’ just like our family, and this image seemed appropriate,” Robbins explained.

“The print is on display in the gallery this week. It is already printed and ready, and someone will take it home Saturday night.”

How to Enter
Participants can obtain tickets at the gallery (sharing the location with the Law Office of Jill Robbins) at 800 Main Street today and tomorrow from 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

On Saturday the gallery will be open all evening during the Magical Country Christmas celebration.

Donation Details & Legalities
Organizers want to be clear that this is an “Opportunity Drawing,” not a raffle. “There are legalities surrounding fundraising raffles—and my wife is an attorney—so we want to be transparent,” Robbins noted. “You do not have to purchase anything to be entered to win. Each individual can request one free entry ticket, and a donation does not improve your chances of winning.”

However, the organizers are encouraging a suggested donation of $10 per ticket, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Ayden’s family. Donations can be made via Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay or Credit Card.

The Drawing The winning ticket will be drawn at random this Saturday at 7:00p.m., immediately following the fireworks and tree lighting. The drawing will likely take place on the plaza right outside the gallery.

“The winner does not have to be present to win; we will track them down,” said Robbins. “But if they are present, they can take the print home that very night.”

Come uptown for the parade and fireworks, and stop by the gallery to support a courageous young member of the Susanville community.

Help make Christmas special for the dogs and cats at the Lassen Animal Shelter and score some great LED Christmas Lights at the same time!

Dagger, best friend of linecrew foreman Cory Kindle and unofficial LMUD Office Dog, models the LMUD pet bandana.

Lassen Municipal Utility District invites you to help our local pet shelter and light up your holidays by donating pet-related items for their Pet Treats for Lights campaign.

Drop off items at the LMUD office, 65 S. Roop Street, beginning December 1st.

This year, LMUD is partnering with local merchants Pet Station, in the Safeway shopping center, and Treats, at 2020 Main Street, who have graciously offered to serve as additional drop-off points.

In exchange for pet food, treats or toys, those who donate receive a box of LED Christmas lights. Customers who bring their pet, or a photo of their pet, to drop off their goodies at any drop-off location also receive a custom LMUD pet bandana.

For more information call LMUD at 1.530.257.4174 or visit www.lmud.org.
