By Marshel Couso

Welcome to our weekly feature dedicated to covering Susanville and Lassen County’s business scene!

Grand openings, new employees, renovations, new hours… each week we’ll keep you up to date with important information about the businesses you rely on.

Kirack Construction

In the construction industry, reliability is everything. For Kirack Construction, that reliability has a name: Wade Workman. This month, the company proudly celebrates Workman’s 12th anniversary as their lead Estimator and pivotal team member.

Workman joined the Kirack family on January 6th, 2014. Over the last dozen years, he has become much more than just an employee; he is described as “Michael’s right hand,” playing a critical role in the company’s daily operations and long-term growth.

“Kirack Construction is honored to have Wade with us for the last 12 years and we look forward to many more years,” the company stated in a recent announcement.

Deep Roots in Susanville
Workman’s commitment extends well beyond the job site. He is a deeply involved member of the Susanville Rotary Club, contributing his time to better the local community. His passion for the outdoors is also well known; as an avid fisherman, Wade runs the popular yearly Junior Fishing Derby, helping the next generation fall in love with the sport.

A Mutual Success
The appreciation is mutual. Reflecting on his tenure, Wade shared, “Being the estimator for Kirack Construction has been one of my best work experiences ever. I look forward to coming to work every day. We grow and expand—every day brings something new.”

Congratulations to Wade Workman on 12 successful years. Here is to many more years of building and community service!

Wild Heart Wellness and Mountain Yoga and Fitness Center

Mountain Yoga and Fitness Center, in collaboration with Natalie Pyrooz of Wild Heart Wellness, invites the Susanville community to a special evening dedicated to peace and restoration.

As we navigate the heart of winter, take a moment to pause with Sound & Stillness: A Midwinter Sound Journey. This event is specifically designed to invite in a deep sense of relaxation and intuitive visioning.

“A sound bath is an immersive experience where you are guided into a relaxed, meditative state,” explains Pyrooz. “It begins with gentle, grounding movement, and then includes a combination of relaxing instruments such as sound bowls, chimes, gongs, and more, that create a very soothing, immersive experience.”

“I’ve had many people tell me they’ve felt more relaxed and slept better than they have in a long time, after coming to a sound bath with me.”

What to Expect
Through a blend of layered sound, spacious silence, and guided meditation, participants will be guided to:

  • Soften the nervous system.
  • Create room for dreaming.
  • Call in what wants to be born for the year ahead.

Attendees are encouraged to “come as you are” and allow the immersive sound experience to replenish their energy, Friday, January 23rd, at 6:00p.m. Mountain Yoga and Fitness Center is located at 2005 Main Street. The cost is $25.
