Kristina Shafer, Loan Officer, Omega Mortgage Group

Kristina Shafer, from the Omega Mortgage group has launched a new program designed to give back to the very community that we live and work in.

“Helping families achieve homeownership is only part of what we do,” explains Shafer, “We also believe that every closed loan should create a positive impact in our community through our Offering Meaningful Generosity program.”

Shafer explains that the program is about much more than writing a check.

“It’s about investing in the people and organizations that make our community such a wonderful place to live. Every home loan represents a family reaching an important milestone, and through the OMG program, that celebration extends to helping neighbors in need.”

Shafer said that when she was looking for a new mortgage company to partner with, she knew she wanted more than just a place to work. It was important to her to find a company that believed in investing in the communities it serves.

“One of the things that drew me to Omega Mortgage Group was its commitment to establishing a brick-and-mortar office here in Susanville. In a small town like ours, local businesses matter. They create jobs, support community events, and help keep our local economy strong.

“It allows our clients to be part of something bigger than their mortgage – they’re helping strengthen the community they call home. As Branch Manager of Omega Mortgage Group in Susanville, I’ve been honored to direct these donations to organizations making a real difference in Lassen County.”

The OMG program has benefited local organizations like Northern California Cancer Advocates, the Susanville K-9 Association, Blue Star Moms, Holiday with a Hero, Rotary of Susanville, and South County 4-H. Shafer is currently working on her seventh beneficiary – Susanville’s Best of Broadway organization.

“I’ve always believed that whenever possible, we should keep things local. Supporting local businesses means supporting our neighbors, our schools, our nonprofits, and the organizations that make Susanville a special place to live. That’s the heart behind the Offering Meaningful Generosity program.”

“Helping someone buy a home is incredibly rewarding but knowing that every closing also benefits our community makes it even more meaningful. Our clients aren’t just investing in a home – they’re investing in Lassen County.

“When local businesses support one another, everyone benefits. That’s why creating the Offering Meaningful Generosity program was so important to me. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate our clients while giving back to the community that has supported us for so many years.”

“Choosing a local business does more than provide a service—it creates a ripple effect. Dollars spent locally help support local jobs, local charities, local events, and future opportunities for our community. At Omega Mortgage Group, we’re proud that every loan we close is another opportunity to invest not only in homeownership, but in the place we all call home.”
