By Marshel Couso

Welcome to our weekly feature dedicated to covering Susanville and Lassen County’s business scene! Grand openings, new employees, renovations, new hours… each week we’ll keep you up to date with important information about the businesses you rely on.

Brandi Hadley and Smith Properties

Each week here in Biz Buzz we are featuring real estate professionals from Smith Properties in Susanville.

“Hi! My name is Brandi Hadley, Realtor with Smith Properties.”

“I earned my real estate license in 2020 but have been gaining industry experience since 2015 through my position with Chicago Title. Growing up, my dad was a general contractor, and several members of my family are still in the industry, so I truly grew up around homes, land, and hard work.”

“I was raised in Lassen County and am proud to still call it home. As a local, I know the area well and love helping buyers and sellers find the perfect place for the next chapter of their lives.”

“My approach to real estate is simple: honesty, communication, and putting my clients’ needs first. I believe in building relationships based on trust, providing straightforward guidance, and being someone my clients can count on throughout the entire process. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling property, or searching for land, I’ll always work hard to make sure you feel informed, supported, and confident in your decisions.”

“I believe real estate is more than a transaction—it’s about helping people make important life decisions with someone they can trust.”

“When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, capturing nature through photography, or exploring the beautiful places that make Lassen County such a special place to call home. Family is at the center of everything I do, and those values carry over into the way I serve my clients—with care, respect, and genuine dedication.”

“Let me be your local guide in your home buying or selling journey! Feel free to reach out anytime—I would be honored to help.”

Thompson Peak Lavender Opens for the Summer Season with New Upgrades and Weekend Events

Lavender season has officially arrived in Lassen County, and Thompson Peak Lavender is opening its gates for another beautiful summer. The vibrant purple fields are in full bloom, inviting locals and visitors alike to experience the beauty, peace, and signature fragrance of the farm.

Owner Celeste Wiser expressed her excitement for the upcoming months, noting that the team looks forward to sharing the farm with the community and encouraging everyone to check out the scheduled events and regular open hours.

With this weekend’s weather forecasted to be nice and cool, it is the perfect time to head out to the farm and enjoy their Season Opening. Thompson Peak Lavender is kicking off the festivities with special classes presented by OM-AH Holistics. Visitors can enjoy Tai Chi in the Lavender on Saturday, June 27th at 5:00p.m., followed by a peaceful Meditation surrounded by the fields on Sunday, June 28th at 5:00p.m.

Admission is $15 per person for non-members and $5 for OM-AH Members. Those planning to attend just need to bring along a water bottle, a yoga mat or comfy blanket, a hat, and some sunscreen.

The farm has undergone several exciting updates to enhance the visitor experience this year. Wiser shared that the team has been working incredibly hard on many upgrades this season, with even more currently in the making. She emphasized that everything they create is designed with the community in mind, aiming to provide a welcoming place to gather, slow down, connect and enjoy time together.

When you visit the farm this summer, you will find brand new shaded seating areas where you can relax and stay awhile, alongside a beautiful farm store filled with unique lavender goodies and items from favorite local vendors. Refreshing lavender lemonade will also be available from Wiser Kid Treats, with donations gratefully accepted.

Guests are welcome to explore the sprawling purple fields and can even take a piece of the farm home by harvesting U-Cut Lavender Bundles for just $5 each. To help protect the health of the crops, guests are kindly asked to use only the cutting supplies provided by the farm.

“Our hope is that you bring your friends, your family… or come by yourself and take time just for YOU. Walk the rows, breathe in the lavender, slow down, and enjoy the experience.”

The excitement continues into next week with the upcoming Farmers Night Market on Wednesday, July 1st from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. This community event offers the perfect opportunity to shop local, hang out, enjoy the scenery, and support an array of amazing vendors.

In addition to public hours, Thompson Peak Lavender is available to host private events. If there is a specific event you would love to see featured on their calendar, or if you want to plan your next visit, you can explore their scheduled events at www.thompson-peak-lavender.com or reach out directly via email at [email protected].
