Changes on Main Street
The weather has been beautiful, and local businesses have been taking the opportunity to do spring cleanup and renovation. If you’ve been paying attention while on Main Street the last couple of weeks you’ve probably noticed some changes to businesses up and down the Main Street corridor. New signs, new paving and new paint jobs… there is a lot of work going on.
Two gas stations in town have been rebranded, and after 40 years under the name River Inn, the hotel will now be the Baymont by Wyndham. The hotel has been repainted, rebranded and rooms are currently being remodeled.
There’s new paint on the old Forest Service building that houses Supreme Graphics and The Depot Barbershop.
Along with all the new interior changes, the outside of the Lassen Library is getting a fresh coat of paint.
In uptown the renovation of the Grand Cafe continues, and Monath Construction just redid the stucco on the art deco front of the building. Inside you can see the new skylight under construction.
Haven Salon in uptown has a brand-new sign on the building, which is next door to the also-new Blue Ox Bakery.
Dr. Buehler, Lilith’s Place, Merry Morsels and the Highway to the Gaming Zone have a new paved parking lot at the corner of Main and Foss Streets.
The Knights Inn at the corner of Main and Ash Street is undergoing a complete renovation with plans to reopen under the Travelodge brand.
