Lassen Municipal Utility District

Today is the day! Lassen Municipal Utility District’s annual Customer Appreciation Celebration is happening this morning, September 4th, in the parking lot at the corner of North Gay and Main Streets.
What started in June 2008 as a small get-together has become a beloved community tradition. As LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips explains, “That year, LMUD staff, management, and board members started a tradition that has grown into a much-loved celebration of community-owned power.”
This year’s event has something for everyone. There will be a giant tent with plenty of shade, fun giveaways like $100 LMUD energy gift cards, and the famous quarter-pound all-beef hot dogs. “There’s seating for up to 100 people, so we encourage folks to sit and relax and enjoy lunch with family and friends,” says Phillips.
Lunch will be served from 11:00a.m. to 1:30p.m. The first 30 LMUD customers to arrive will receive a solar-powered, hand-crank radio (limit one per household). Anyone who attends can also enter a drawing to win one of three $100 energy gift cards and grab a swag bag filled with goodies.
Phillips emphasizes LMUD’s commitment to its customers. “LMUD is proud to serve our friends, neighbors and family with reliable, affordable electricity.”
She also points out that the event is a great chance for residents to connect with the people behind the utility. “Events like our customer appreciation celebration give you an opportunity to meet with LMUD board members, management and staff, allowing you to ask questions and voice your comments on how your utility is operating.”

Tattoos By Paul is becoming Black Emerald Tattoo

Tattoos by Paul, located at 10 North Fairfield, is getting a new name! Paul Ryan, owner of “Tattoos by Paul,” has announced that he is changing the name of his business to Black Emerald Tattoo.
“I decided to get rid of the average, ordinary name of ‘Tattoos by Paul’ and switch my tattoo business name and design to Black Emerald Tattoo,” said Ryan.
“An old boss of mine always told me that if nothing changes, nothing ever changes,” explains Ryan. “So, I wanted to change it from the old, kinda corny, ordinary name to something a little more traditional tattoo shop vibe, something a little more professional also something I can use the design to make some merch so people can represent me wherever they go if they feel like it.”
The newly rebranded business will be releasing their new merchandise soon. Customers can find the studio inside Thompson Peak Tattoo. Click here to connect with Black emerald Tattoo on Facebook.
