
The Bureau of Land Management’s Eagle Lake Field Office has issued an immediate temporary closure of public lands near Snowstorm Road and Vincent Canyon, about 20 miles northeast of Susanville, due to active wildland firefighting operations on the Biscar Fire, which began on July 17th.
According to the BLM, the temporary emergency closure is being implemented pursuant to 43 CFR 8364.1 to protect public and firefighter safety during suppression efforts.
Affected Closure Area
West of Highway 395: north of Karlo Road (County Road 216), east of Snowstorm Road and The Modoc Line, south of Horse Lake Road to Highway 395.
East of Highway 395: north of Smoke Creek Road (County Road 338) to Sand Pass Road (County Road 7) to Stone Corral Road to the Buckhorn Backcountry Byway.
Effective Dates & Exemptions
The closure is effective immediately and will remain in effect until further notice.
The order does not apply to:
Federal, state, and local officers and employees in the performance of their official duties.
Members of organized medical, rescue, or firefighting forces in the performance of their official duties.
BLM employees, contractors, or agents engaged in official duties.
Parties carrying written approval signed by the BLM Authorized Officer allowing access to the described public lands.
