Crews from the Bureau of Land Management plan to burn piles of juniper limbs and small trees today, December 19th, on a 40-acre parcel of public land about five miles east of Bieber in Lassen County.
Burning will take place only when weather and fuel conditions allow for safe and successful burning.
Smoke may be visible from Bieber on ignition day, with light smoke lingering for several days.
The juniper piles were created during earlier project work to reduce wildfire risk and to improve landscape health.
The BLM conducts prescribed fire projects in accordance with burn plans that specify the allowable conditions and the personnel and equipment required.
