Fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management have been conducting pile burning projects in the Horse Lake area, southwest of Ravendale, and will continue to work on the projects through the winter months as conditions allow.
Burning will take place only when weather and fuel conditions allow for safe and successful burning.
The project site covers over 330 acres. The slash piles were created during projects to reduce hazardous fuels, improving landscape health and reducing chances of catastrophic wildfires.
All BLM prescribed burning projects are conducted in accordance with burn plans that specify weather and fuel conditions and the personnel and equipment required.
