As a unique tribute to our local, active-duty service members, the Susanville Soaring Eagle Blue Star Moms purchase banners featuring each soldier’s name, photo and branch of the military, which are then hung on utility poles up and down Main Street. The program not only honors local soldiers, but the banners decorate the street from end-to-end and give the town character.
The organization is able to purchase the banners with funds from donations and fundraisers and today, from 10:00a.m. until 1:00p.m., the Moms will be out in force along Main Street collecting donations for the program.
