Breaking News: Crews Respond to Vegetation Fire on Johnstonville Rd Near Skyline

Final Update 1:46p.m. According to information from the Office of Emergency Services the fire has been contained at 9 acres. -jc

Updated 12:30p.m. CHP has reopened Johnstonville road. Skyline Extension is still closed to traffic at this time. Agencies on-scene include Cal-Fire, Susanville City Fire, Susan River Fire, Susanville Police Department and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.

Updated 12:12 Emergency Services Liaison Niki Cunningham reports from the scene that the fire has burned 3 to 5 acres and is moving away from structures.

Updated 12:12p.m. Traffic is being stopped and diverted westbound at Johnstonville Road and Center Road. Eastbound traffic is being diverted at Riverside drive/Highway 36. The Skyline extension is also closed to traffic.

11:50 Fire crews are responding to a reported vegetation fire near the intersection of Johnstonville and and the Skyline Extension east of Susanville.
