3:32p.m. Update: According to scanner traffic forward progress of the fire has been halted by firefighters and additional resources are being cancelled.
2:55p.m. Firefighters from Cal-Fire and the Susan River Fire District are responding to a reported vegetation fire burning near Desmond Meadows just west of Susanville.
The smoke column is very visible from valley.
