2:12 p.m. Firefighters are fighting several spot fires near Rock Creek on Highway 36 between Westwood and Chester.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office is giving the location as 1/2 mile west of the Highway 36 / County Road A13 junction.
Reportedly the fire began burning in the Manzanita bushes alongside the roadway. CHP is now looking for a vehicle that is possibly dragging metal and causing sparks.
