A flare up in the Bug Fire, burning near Hallelujah Junction, has forced the closure of Highway 395 in the area of the fire.
According to the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol Highway 395 is closed southbound from South Constantia Road to the Nevada border.
Northbound the highway is closed from the Nevada border to Red Rock.

The Bug Fire has rapidly grown to approximately 57,966 acres, making it the largest wildfire recorded in Nevada so far this year. Fire crews report containment holding at just 3% following extreme fire activity that saw the blaze nearly quadruple in size over a 24-hour period.
The fire is burning north of Reno across state and county lines, spanning Lassen and Sierra counties, as well as Washoe and Sierra counties in Nevada.
Multiple evacuation orders remain in effect across the affected regions. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
