Public Safety Chief Michael Bengoa-Bollinger has announced that he will suspend all burn permits and open burning in the City of Susanville effective immediately, in partnership with Cal-FIRE’s Lassen Modoc Unit.
The suspension, which bans all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris, branches, leaves, and any other type of open burning, will be in effect until Monday, June 2nd.
No burning will be allowed during this time frame. Make sure all previously burned debris piles are cold to the touch.
This suspension is the result of the forecasted Red Flag conditions that will persist throughout the region this weekend.
