The CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit announced the addition of Fire Apparatus Engineer Nicholas Barnes to its ranks following his recent graduation from the CAL-FIRE Academy in Ione.
LMU Unit Chief Joshua Kern officially welcomed Barnes to the unit as he steps into his new operational role serving Lassen and Modoc counties.
As a Fire Apparatus Engineer, Barnes will be responsible for operating fire engines and specialized equipment during wildland and structural firefighting operations under general supervision.
The position plays a critical leadership role on the line, directing assigned crews during emergency responses, carrying out fire prevention activities, and managing the ongoing maintenance and repair of station apparatus and facilities. (CAL FIRE photo)
