Cal-FIRE Makes Quick Work of Highway 139 Roadside Spot Fire

Firefighters from Cal-FIRE’s Lassen Modoc Unit responded at around 2:30p.m., on July 24th, after receiving a report of a small vegetation fire burning alongside the roadway, north of Susanville, on Highway 139.

According to details provided by the agency, the fire burned approximately .08 acres of vegetation before it was stopped. No cause was given for the fire.

Cal-FIRE LMU thanked the California Highway Patrol for helping with traffic control, keeping fire personnel safe, and to Susan River Fire District for providing a water tender.
