On February 11th, young people in Lassen County were invited to attend a California Conservation Corps Recruitment Event hosted by the Lassen County Environmental Education Collaborative. Guest presenters Jared Fautt, CCCā€™s Zone 1 Recruiter, and colleague Sterling Guijar, discussed the benefits of involvement in the CCC for young people, ages 18-25.

The presenters discussed the multitude of benefits available to CCC participants from paid, job-specific, specialized training and work experience to scholarships and assistance starting a career pathway.Ā  If you missed the event and would like more information on the CCC, brochures and contact information are available at the Trustā€™s offices, located in the historic Susanville railroad depot or you can visit the CCCā€™s webpage -www.ccc.ca.gov.

As always, any curious high school students and parents are welcome to contact Jessie Diermier at (530) 257-3252 with questions or inquiries.

This event was a program of the Lassen County Environmental Education Collaborative, a partnership between the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, Lassen National Forest, the Lassen County Office of Education and Lassen Land and Trails Trust.
