Caltrans Announces Open Applications for North Region Small Business Forum

Caltrans District 2 has announced that applications are open for the North Region Small Business Forum, a vital initiative aimed at fostering collaboration and creating more equitable opportunities for small businesses in Northern California.

The Forum invites small business owners, trade association representatives, and community members in Northern California to join in shaping the future of transportation.

This is a powerful opportunity for businesses to make their voices heard, provide feedback, and help break down barriers in state and federally funded projects.

The North Region Small Business Forum is specifically designed to identify obstacles keeping small businesses, disabled veteran business enterprises, and disadvantaged business enterprises from effectively working with Caltrans and the State on contracts and procurements.

Members will provide feasible solutions to these problems and share proposed solutions with Caltrans leadership for consideration and possible implementation.

Forum membership will be capped at 18 members at any given time, with three forum meetings convened annually (approximately every four months). Forum members will serve two-year terms for a total of six meetings.

Applications will remain open beyond the initial deadline, but interested parties are strongly encouraged to apply soon.

The deadline to apply for the first round of membership selection is this Friday, July 18th, at 5:00p.m.

Caltrans District 2 encourages all eligible small businesses and community stakeholders to apply and help build a better future, together.
